My Background

I am a 33 year-old Aruban with a double nationality (Colombo-Arubiano), born in Curaçao now living in Bogotá Colombia. I was homeschooled all through Elementary, Middle and High School and went on to pursue a career in sports training. After that, at the age of 20, I moved to Bogotá, Colombia to embark on my journey to college. I studied "Licenciatura en Educación Bilingüe" at the El Bosque University. Once I had earned my degree, along with several side studies such as French, and an ELT certification as well as several Bioethics conferences and a membership in "Educación Sin Ecuela" from the Universidad Nacional, I began teaching at a local private school. After a year within the "system", I realized what had known all along. The traditional education system did not work for me. I returned to where I would always be, which is at the pool-deck training synchronized swimmers since I had been a synchronized swimming athlete since the age of 5, and had competed on a national and international level most of my career. After a much-needed ACL operation in 2015, I began working for the district's sports institute as head trainer for the regional team. In 2016, I decided to specialize in teaching Spanish as a Second language at the Universidad Externado. In 2017, I began my Masters Degree program at the Universitat de Barcelona with their online version of the program. In 2018, I started my own Artistic Swimming organization and went on to teach trainers and design athletic programs and curriculums. In 2019, I graduated from my masters program and began my journey of bonding alternative education methodologies and independent learning systems, specifically designed to help athletes as well as any other student who does not fit-in with the traditional education system. All through my career, I also mentored teachers and parents who were interested in homeschooling their children and needed the right orientation in order to fulfil this task.
